Digital Night Vision in Conflict Zones
WARNING
The infrared LED on Usnighthawk devices is very visible to enemy night vision users. For this reason, using digital night vision in combat could be incredibly dangerous.
Military forces utilize night vision units that employ image intensifier tubes, which can be quite expensive. These devices do not require infrared LEDs, allowing military personnel to detect digital night vision users without being seen themselves.
What is an Image Intensifier Tube (IIT)?
An Image Intensifier Tube (IIT) is a device that enhances low-light images to levels visible to the human eye. It captures ambient light from natural sources like starlight or moonlight, as well as from artificial sources such as streetlights or infrared illuminators. The light then passes through various internal components, which multiply it several thousand times, resulting in a significantly brighter image that can be viewed by a soldier using the night vision device.
Why Are We Giving This Warning?
We are aware that some individuals are considering purchasing digital night vision devices for use in the ongoing and severe conflict in Ukraine, potentially in real combat situations. We strongly advise anyone contemplating the purchase of our night vision devices for use in Ukraine to exercise extreme caution.

Why Could Donating Digital Night Vision Be Harmful?
There are two main reasons why digital devices like Usnighthawk could pose risks to their users:
1.Digital night vision devices emit a faint red glow when the integrated infrared LED is activated.
2.The infrared light from the LED is visible to anyone using night vision devices. If your opponents possess night vision capabilities, they will be able to see you, even from a considerable distance.
Do All Digital Night Vision Products Feature Infrared LEDs?
Some of our devices can function without active infrared illumination. However, it is important to note that their passive performance relies on ambient light, which significantly diminishes effectiveness, and these devices are not intended for use in warfare.
When Is Digital Night Vision Useful?
Digital night vision devices, which include scopes, binocular systems, and monoculars, are commonly favored for activities such as sport hunting, surveillance, and nature observation. This versatility makes them particularly popular among private users. Digital night vision can be advantageous if you are certain that the opposing party lacks night vision capabilities, if your position is already apparent (for instance, traveling as part of a convoy), or as an alternative to lighting when moving around far from the front lines to avoid detection by enemy spotters.
