I tested this device from top to bottom of its capabilityes, and it has its good and bad sides. So what is NV9000 good for? Well…camping, hunting, observing, range finding. It can take photos and videos that look nice. Range finder can be usefull at gun range or while hunting, you can pecisely messure the distance, range finder works great! Device would be great for hunting, you can illuminate a lot around you with IR flaslight, and I don’t think any deer cares about little red light popping up in the dark. Wich brings me to the bad sides of this device. It is not for airsoft or any other tactical situation, this thing will get you killed if you use it for that! So don’t even try! Latency and FOV are the biggest issue when it comes to this device, but its not that bad honestly. Device is also bit to big and heavy, strap is poorly done and could be a lot better, so I don’t recommand carrying this on your head at all. Use the sling that comes with the device and keep it around the neck, its way more practical, or buy a better strap. Mount could be metal instead of plastic. So, YES for hunting, camping, obesrving, range finding and big NO for airsoft, or any real war/tactical type scenario, if somone else has NVG and you use that IR flaslight, you are coocked!
